Why Do Giveaways?

So I confessed the other day on a video that one of my greatest fears is throwing a party or event and no one shows up.

Why?

Because I saw it happen to my mom. I saw the defeated look and devastation it caused in her life - knowing she was an outsider - not accepted - an 'other'.

We moved across Canada three times during my school years which didn't help when it came to creating - and belonging - to community ....

Belonging....it really matters to me. Not just for myself but for everyone...LOL I guess that's why I love creating events, theatre productions, communities, and parties!

This week began a month of giveaways centered around my novels. I understand this can look like (and is to a degree) a marketing campaign, however, for me, it's really about creating community and sharing.

And who doesn't want to celebrate an amazing pony's life who gave so much to so many?
